Set of eight Georgian mahogany chairs, very early 19th C, circa 1805-15. Comprising two armchairs and six side chairs. This style of chair is of additional interest to American collectors since this is the prototype for the NY model favored by collectors today. Some of those cabinetmakers were of Scottish heritage, giving weight to the belief that these are Scottish chairs.
