Charleston Chippendale Mahogany Antique Tea Table circa 1765. Rare small-scale tea table, approx. 28" diameter, attributed to Henry Burnett. The best carved base. Note: cleats were trimmed back with shrinkage to the top--they extended over the plane of the top. Top is approx. 25" one way and 26" against the grain of the single board pie crust top. In the opinion of my cabinetmakers, the top and base are original to one another. However, contrary opinion exists...
