Fine Walnut veneer tall case clock, with 8-day time and strike movement, maker: Francis Robinson, London. Britten records Robinson as apprenticed to Henry Jones in 1707 and master in 1725. Some of his clocks are inscribed, like this example, "In the Temple" and Britten also notes an example inscribed: "servant to His Royal Highness" and another example with square dial and cherub corners, 1706-26.
