13.5" x 10.5" and in frame 19" x 15.5"Pair of bird prints "drawn from nature" by Alexander Wilson (1766-1813). Wilson was a Scottish American ornithologist, regarded as the greatest before Audubon. One reads includes the Mississippi Kite, Tennessee Warbler, Kentucky Warbler, and Prairie W. The other includes Slate Coloured Hawk, Ground Dove, and a Female. Alexander Lawson (1773-1846) is listed in Benezit Note: there is significant foxing.
