Oil on canvas, signed lower left but somewhat illegibly "?? Hill" and this is my best guess concerning the artist, also with elaborate inscription on the back of the canvas. Ca. 1870.

Oil on canvas, signed. Inscribed in bold Hebrew letters: Ba'al Shem Tov, famed Jewish mystic (1698-1760). 40" x 28" image size. Circa 1925-35.

Oil on paper laid down on board, approx. 11" x 16" unsigned and part of a group of oil sketches by Virgil Williams. Circa 1865-70 and presumably a Western view since Williams settled in San Francisco in 1865. I will enter other works from this group on to the website.
